Ujung Kulon National Park, Indonesia's leading park, a World Heritage Site and the habitat of the endangered Javan rhinoceros, holds a rich and diverse wilderness of high conservation value. The Park has a wide variety of vegetation with tropical rimary rain forest, lowland forest, mangroves, fresh water swammps, and coastal vegetation. Within these is a great diversity of flowering and fruiting plants.

The BADUI community in Banten is an utterly unique society. In April and May the BADUY community is closed to outsiders, as the people perform traditional ceremonies. One, the Seba ceremony, involves offerings to the Head of the District, Sub-Rgent and the Chief Resident. A group of community's spokemen are sent out, refusing to ride in any vehicle. The 150 km is travelled on foot as proof of their perseverance.
